Parish Nurse Health and Wellness

"A merry heart does good like medicine but a broken spirit dries up the bones."Proverbs 17:22

Starting a new drug?

Ask these questions:

  • What is the drug and what is it designed to do?
  • What should I do if I forget a dose?
  • What is the dosing schedule and how do I take it?
  • What side effects should I expect? How long will I be on this drug?
  • Should I take this on an empty stomach or with food?

Much of this information is supplied with your medication but if you are unsure, ask your pharmacist or Parish Nurse.

Know why you are taking the medication you have been prescribed.

Linda Andris has wallet cards to carry with your list of medications at all times.
